Plarail TOMY Thomas NEW RELEASES

I am really interested in what the Steamer is pulling especially if its a Tank engine as that middle car wouldn't need to be a tender. From the angle in the picture the 2 trailing cars look to be completely new. I like the looks of the dual headlights on the engine but what disturbs me now, until I see more pictures, is the length of the engines nose from the wheels and the height of the buffer beam. If those are anything like the last steamer released, the 7100 form 7105 Unit Yoshitsune, then I will be disappointed so lets hope it doesn't come out like that one. Although, if it does, and, if the trailing cars are unique, the set may be worth buying just for them.

This is a problem I have always had with Plarail...they are constantly re-using their model numbers and it is so confusing. The original number S-51 belongs to the 8620 Steamer. They even do this with scenic and track items. Whats so hard in using a different number?

Way to go, Great call OTR and great detective work. you may have got it... and your C-11 looks to also have dual rear lights...how about that...

Might that middle unit be a Conductor/Guard Car like this HO Series release of the C-11-207 has??? Would surely be a one of a kind if it is. http://www.rokuhan.com/news/2017/06/c11-207-8000-2.html

It looks like the same consist as the HO scale model you posted, Super. I’m thinking we might have our mystery solved. I will be curious to see how they handle the guard/conductor car. Heck, it’ll be interesting to see how or if they handle the differences between the C11 and C12. The old C battery C11 and the current Oigawa Thomas used modestly re-detailed C12 body shells. Meh, I’ll still preorder a couple anyway. It’s been at least two years since Tomy released a new, “real world” prototype steam locomotive and I’m kinda thirsty at this point! Big Grin

It actually looks more like the AA battery re-make of the old, bulky, C sized battery C-12. In fact the picture of your C-11 looks very similar to this C-12 remake with the addition of the smoke deflectors which is the same difference in real life. I am anxious to see more details.

Jeez ive been away for a while. By the way sorry for my absence. I love the look of that limited edition silver thomas. The black wheels and side rods complement the silver body very well. Too bad that it will only be limited too 100 models worldwide, not looking forward to seeing how much they resell for on jauce and other japanese auctions. What im also pretty sad about is plarail not producing a motorized version of frankie (correct me if they are producing one but i saw a non-motorized version of frankie coming with hurricane). This was the one model from that movie that i wanted to be produced in motorized form but i guess you cant get everything that you want. Again guys sorry for my long absence and i will be back everyday from now onBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Oh my!...how exciting. Thank you Mod!!!

The rumor is no more and Caitlyn is confirmed, she looks good with her matching Express Coach. I am sure glad I bought her mate Conner new in box so I will have the set.

I am not too sure on Ashima though as the front of her looks flat and a sticker. Her face looks good but her accompanying vehicles are underwhelming unless they are from the show.

Who is the third one? Looks to be exclusive matching colored Troublesome Trucks...I like Exclusive.

Those brown, half curved, tunnel/bridge pieces in the middle set look interesting, they look to be stackable as well as connecting together. How neat would it be if they also sold some half straight pieces to where one could have a really long tunnel around curves and straights where trains could run on top with the ability to stack them up. Would be nice if they offered very similar pieces separately without the Thomas characters also in a tunnel pack..

I see that it says 2018 does it also say End of April and End of May for the releases? Looks like 2018 is turning into quite the year for Plarail releases.
