Hi Folks,

Isn't it coincidental, I just about finish repairing the last batch of 'broken' loco's (only 1 Murdoch to rectify) and along comes a new quite nice little bundle of 'Non-Working/Broken' items auction. This time the job lot I've won consists of;

Thomas x2
Arthur
Gordon
Henry
Ben
Whiff
Freddie
Stephen
Emily
Diesel 10
Bumble Bee James
Salty
Dennis
Duck
Motorised Carriages (x 2 - 1 for Mighty Mac, 1 for Harvey)
Bertie
Red Double Decker Bus
Lori
Chinese Dragon Wagon
Sodor Fuel Tanker
Annie
A number of trucks

Now of course who knows what's wrong with them, they may be quick fixes like some of the last batch or they may require considerably more effort. At worst they may get consigned to the spares box to help resurrect other scrappers that may come my way. But based on the photo's they look in pretty good condition so I'm hoping some will fall into the 'easy fix' category, or with some of the rarer models maybe another 'normal' doner train may bring them back to life.

Best part is the cost of the auction, I won this bundle for £2.20 + postage Smile

Awesome lot Nigel. I am amazed at what these sell for some times. Makes the thrill that much more fun. Finding something in the ruff and restoring it or simply putting in a battery and making it work again. Good luck on repair for them. I too picked up a bumble bee James this past week, which was listed for parts, and actually scored a second yesterday that doesn't have the face, but can likely be fixed up. Post some pics if you have time. Thanks.

Will do when they arrive, as I say they look in pretty good nick, but who knows till you see them in the flesh. As for the bumble bee, if need be I can always sacrifice a spare James to get that going so a win win scenario if you ask me Smile

Hopefully yours turn out a bit better than mine. One is decent although it has some sort of food or something on it. Will need cleaned and wires repaired. The other is missing his face, stickers and has some wear, and needs wires fixed.

I will have to look and see if there are stickers/decals anywhere close to what was on him.

(Bumblebee James that is.. )

Believe it or not I managed to get a bumble bee james only a few days before winning this bundle. Its already arrived and is in awesome condition, a few marks on the 'corners' as is normal with a used loco, but apart from that the only other mark is a little stain on the grey coal cover. But that may be able to be cleaned off - what with starting my new job and fixing the last batch of dead engines I've not had a chance to look into it as its low on the triage list Smile

The one in the broken batch looks to be in similar condition from the auction photo's but who knows I'll find out when they arrive. I do know it is complete with its coal cover though, so that's one positive Smile

Excellent to hear. I got mine cleaned up and re-wired last evening. He actually is not that bad. The other one rally just needs the #5 stickers for the tender, which seem like there may be some available as it is just. 1/2" square black with yellow 5 on it. I found a face from an old James that fit perfect.

Glad to hear yours looks good, now one to play with and one to put up. :-)

Nice one Mr Ripley, I've been wondering myself if replacement stickers are either available or there are any scanned images you can download to print them yourself. Although I got all those other loco's running a few of them could do with some new stickers - primarily on the tenders for engines like Gordon and Edward for some reason Smile

Ok, Mr Ripley, as requested here's pics of this haul;

Firstly Ben & Freddie;

[Image: DSC00143.jpg]

Whiff and (drum roll) Oliver;

[Image: DSC00144.jpg]

Dennis and Thomas;

[Image: DSC00145_1.jpg]

Gordon & Henry - both have broken wires so I know how to fix those, both complete with the tender coal covers tho;

[Image: DSC00146_1.jpg]

Stephen & Tender, has a broken switch;

[Image: DSC00147.jpg]

Salty & Arthur (Arthur has a broken wheel on the front axle - other side);

[Image: DSC00149.jpg]

Chinese Dragon and Diesel 10;

[Image: DSC00150.jpg]

Bertie, Bulgy and Lori;

[Image: DSC00151.jpg]

Another Thomas, bit of an odd one this as he has a permanent connected wagon with the power switch in the wagon rather than the loco. Looking at the bottom it doesn't appear to be a talk & action model so I'm a bit bemused, not see this type before, any clues anyone?

[Image: DSC00153.jpg]

Emily;

[Image: DSC00154.jpg]

Bumble Bee James, in pretty good condition, needs a bit of a clean and maybe replacement stickers, but otherwise paint is good;

[Image: DSC00155.jpg]

An interesting wagon;

[Image: DSC00156.jpg]

Motorised coach, for Mac maybe?;

[Image: DSC00157.jpg]

There are also another 6 or so wagons/coaches in pretty good condition apart from broken couplings and one of the motorised coaches for thingime (the one with the crane - can never remember his name lol!)

Overall the whole lot are pretty good, the odd missing push rod, but otherwise ok, apart from the noted faults I can't tell what's wrong with the others as I've not had chance to test them yet, but will come the weekend - all in all great for the grand price of £2.20 + shipping Big Grin

Great score. Those look to be on good shape too. I just scored the red bulgy bus. I have several green but I had not found the red one. The one you mention as Lori, I believe is actually Elizabeth.

The Thomas with the car attached is a talking but not talk and action one I believe. I have several of these. Where the funnel is should press and he talks when flat sense there is a sensor on the rear.

The motorized coach does look to be mighty mac's. The blue car with the horse I believe is Stephen's.

Hope this helps, and correct me if I am wrong fellow members. Thanks.
