Screen Accurate Trackmaster Thomas prototype spotted

Hi all the latest 70th anniversary Thomas video on the Thomas channel shows the history of Thomas and the culture in general surrounding the franchise. It also shows the toy design process and designers. This Absolutely stunning Thomas prototype was spotted in a scene on a designers desk.

It appears to be show accurate with a high roof, the correct front end and the front wheel splashers molded separately and fitted in the correct position to cover the front wheels. I doubt this toy will ever see the light of day but just maybe an indication in the future the Trackmaster line will be rebooted or that a premium collectors line with more accurate locos is coming to replace Plarail.

Behold!

It's a lovely looking prototype. Sadly my assumption about it is for the Revolution redeisgn, the designers must have made a mould precisely matching the source images of Thomas they were given, then had to proportion back some things and work round the limitations of the motor and functions so then we got what we see on the toy shelf.

Good eye Ucwepn to spot this, quite a realistic looking Thomas and the wheel splashes look great in their right position. They even have the cut away behind the wheel splash and not what we have now with the use of paint or stickers to give the illusion of an opening. Notice the position of the on/off switch. Looks more to the side which would make me think not a Revolution design...right? Aren't the Revolution switches in the middle? Of course this prototype could be older and a source of pride to whoevers work space that it.

Maybe they realized how unpopular the new Trackmaster was, and that one will become Trackmaster 3? One can only hope...

If it is that particular designers proud desk ornament of choice then it shows even the designers aren't happy with what they have created with revolution and possibly even the designers secretly long for the older stuff to return, They can only create what Mattel orders them to and lets them after all and we know there were many different proposals for Trackmaster revolution with letters as codenames as seen in the behind the rails video.

It is a lovely example and I would pay $100 for a loco like that if it were released as a premium or masterpiece line.
