2009 trackmaster Rocky battery cover

16 Replies, 21447 Views

Hello,

I managed to pick up a 2009 trackmaster Rocky on eBay for $10.90 shipped. It was listed as not working but I had a 2006 that I fixed so I figure for $10 it is worth a shot. The only other issue is it is missing the battery cover. Has anyone seen one of these listed anywhere recently or maybe have one in their parts box? Thanks again.

Well the Rocky arrived today. I managed to get it taken appart to find Someone used it in a sandbox.. :-(. After I cleaned the gears and ran new wires he is up and running. Anyone have any ideas on where I may come across a battery cover or know of anything that may be similar? For now it will be fine, just would like it to be complete. Thanks as always for any assistance.

nice work on the repair! sand... ick. glad you got it cheapish, but under those circumstances i think it was too high.

not sure what would be similar for a battery cover, but i suggest scouring local thrift shops and looking at any toy which has batteries. you may well find something that way.

I don't think I have ever seen this before, is he quite rare? Great job of getting him cleaned up and working. I happen to like a good challenge like that too. That battery cover looks to be quite unique and maybe hard to come buy. Would you happen to have a picture of what it looks like in case I see one available somewhere?

Yeah he was quite sandy. Not sure why some do this other than they see it as a broken train and what use is it.. However it was only a broken wire that needed fixed. I have seen Rocky on eBay various times for $30-$60 so I think it was a good purchase. Hopefully I can track down a battery cover for it though. Here is a pic of what the cover would look like.

Hi! I've got a TrackMaster Rocky from HiT Toys, the wires are cut and I tried to fix them but it still doesn't work. I think there might be something in the motor but the thing is I don't know how to open it. Could you please tell me what to do after getting to this part?: https://s9.postimg.cc/8ls8i5hxr/image.jpg

This is the Rocky https://s9.postimg.cc/dvx79g26n/image.jpg

Considering it's rare now I don't want to break it. Thanks for your help!

Hi there. I believe there was a screw in that round center piece. And then that purse come off and the crane/top part lifts off. I do not recall and clips or anything so of it is still snug then there is likely a screw somewhere. Let me know if there are any other questions.
I just got off EBay a 2006 Hit Toy Rocky with all 3 cars. Only the crane is motorized. I bought as "not working". I opened the battery car and found. a terminal wire broke and same was broke just past coupler under the crane. I removed all screws from crane car base but cannot remove the base. Don't want to force it off, any help please, tks
