Trackmaster Lost and Found Hiro parts?.

Hello, I am new to the forums. I found a really great deal on a lot of trains recently and in them was the Rare Lost and Found Hiro. I was super excited to get this for the collection, but upon receiving it I noticed it is missing the two pieces that make the face flip. I have an extra flip face Thomas that I am going to try and use for parts, but wanted to see if anyone knows if there are parts available somewhere for these? Thanks again all for reviewing this and helping me out.
Hi welcome to the forum! That is a really great find, congratulations! Unfortunately there are no spare parts available for that particular locomotive, hopefully you will be able to use the thomas parts to make it function again. We (here) often find ourselves tearing apart spare trains for parts.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was afraid of. I did see some of these trains for sale on eBay listed overseas so i was thinking maybe there were some parts still available. I will post back once I give it a shot. Thanks again.

I do believe you will be able to swap out those levers from the FFThomas!!
They aren't the same color (Hiro's are burgundy red), but they're identical in design and as long as the internal workings are all intact.
Play nice & have fun!!Smile

Good news. The pieces from the r/c flip face Thomas did the trick. Although not the same color as the originals they should be fine. If anyone is doing this in the future, be sure to get the face/post lined up with the hole in order for the face to flip properly. Thanks again guys for the posts on this.

I managed to find another lost and found Hiro on eBay for $12.50... It had a cut motor wire, but I swapped it out and it runs fine now. I swapped the red flipper pieces out for the other one I had since it is in a bit better condition. This one now has the ones I pulled from flip face Thomas. Having a bit of an issue getting the position right to make them flip his face though. I will get it figured out though. Thanks

Holey Cow! Only $12.50? You don't see that very often even if it didn't work. Way to go Ripley802

I know.. I was shocked. It does have some corrosion in the battery compartment, but after cleaning that off and fixing the wire it is working somewhat. I am now tinkering with the flip face. It seems that the flip face is no longer glued to the shaft. Luckily I have the other lost and found hiro to reference, so that has been nice. I am super glueing the face and shaft now so hopefully that does the trick. Aside from having a small piece of the decal on the tender missing it is in good shape.
