i also look forward to their troublesome trucks too.  it looks like the faces will be 3D as well.  I always wonder if I can actually swap out the cog wheels with traditional tomy train wheels.  It is always on my to do this, but it always fall through the crack.  Has anybody attempted this yet?

With what I remember when Revolution/Trackmaster II first started is that because these have plastic one piece axles and wheels and for the fact that the plastic axles are quite large that a simple swap is not possible. I suppose that with modifications and some kind of axle guide created for the thinner metal axles and original wheels it could be done but not without effort. I think that it was in one of Ucwepn's first impression video's of these that I first heard about it. I look forward to see some of all your modifications to see what you come up with.

Super, as soon as I saw your post, it made me jump up and go investigate!
Maybe they have changed things recently, but aside from the world losing a JR500, it’s wheels fit

perfectly, and it literally took more time to grind a square drill bit into a triangle to open up the Revolution wagon than it took me to change out the wheels and axles.
Hopefully Annie & Clarabel are made the same way and it will be a breeze.

triangle screw driver is available on ebay.  It saves a lot oftime and agony.  I used a screw dfriver that resembles an octagon, I forget the name of that type of screw driver.

I’m not sure if it’s much lower at all Super..
The cog axels weren’t really that fat, and the Tomy axels are the beefy type, so if it’s lower it not visibly noticeable to to the naked eye. I will be sure to measure it when I put the cog wheels back on it though.

No big deal. I only asked because it looks like the axle covers are low and might rub the side rails of the Tomy or original Trackmaster track. Plus the Hook looks like it sits lower and would touch the rails.

The most surprising thing about this conversation is that Muddy didn't have a triangle screwdriver already, given the widespread occurrence of triangle-socket screws on HiT and Mattel items!
