I'm not a big fan of all the fantastical things they are adding to Thomas, but I have to admit this is a clever piece of engineering. And I like how he can walk both ways. When I do train displays I like action items that automatically reset or are perpetual so I'm not constantly monitoring the layout, and can take time to enjoy the folks who come to see the display..
What's this, the legs of an AT-AT? I know most of the show/books happened "a long time ago", but not in a galaxy far, far away. Had it not been for Mattel's Star Wars license, I think they would've been compelled to redesign it entirely.
Surely too many owners will dress it up like one and/or use it on SW themed layouts. What other comparisons did they possibly expect?
I wonder how much punishment that Walker can take with rough play from the little ones. Looks like the legs might easily snap. Plus, it looks like you could use the Walker without the rails and have him walking all around the house.
Don't forget that the range is now going to be called Motorized, not TrackMaster anymore. Push Along will also drop the TrackMaster name.
Consider your day ruined, as Thomas & Percy have rivets in the new sodor set.

Rivets???
I am not a Twitterer so that Link doesn't show me a picture of what you are referring to. Is it possible for you to take a picture and Post it here?
Thanks Drew
It does look odd, maybe because they are big rivets? Are they printed or is that a sticker? I was actually envisioning real, embossed, detailed rivets which might look cool. |
