Today I visited ASDA (UK name for Walmart), where I found seven boxes of The Original (LBSC) Thomas. I could see from the outside that there were problems with some of them:
* Damaged faces - one scratched, the other chipped
* Gaps and thin bits in the white lining
* Round window/whistle stickers askew, in some cases flapping loose where they overlapped the side edges of the cab
In the end I used my thumbnail to cut through the seal on each box so I could look at them properly, and I was able to find just one that deserved to have passed quality inspection. Not very impressive so far, but yes of course I had to have it.
Now that I've got him home I'm looking forward to an in-depth examination so that I can see for myself the various 'features' that others have commented on here already.
