2015 Fisher Price Trackmaster - MuddyPoppins - 02-28-2015 Well...I finally opened my first "revolution" train... The Original Thomas LCSB... I had been resisting and avoiding the experience because sometimes change IS NOT good...and so it is with great disappointment and a heavy heart that my suspicious apprehensions were confirmed last evening and I must express my sincere displeasure and annoyance at this new abomination!!...WHAT CRAP! It's like your best friend got a BAD facelift and asks "how do I look??", you do a double take, because you only recognized his voice, then realize who it is as your heart sinks and mind races for a kind response.. "You look great...just like Bruce Jenner, Kenny Rogers, Chuck Norris, and Mickey Rourke all wrapped in one!!" RE: 2015 Fisher Price Trackmaster - HankAmericanEngine - 02-28-2015 I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with the TrackMaster Revolution, Muddy! To be quite honest, I'm not sure everyone who owns the products may feel the same-- some love it, others don't; it's just a hit-or-miss product now. I'm on the fence with the product line, as I do have quite a bit of rolling stock (near 30 pieces I think), and only 3 of the engines; the original Thomas is one that I do have, and I am fairly surprised that I had to do quite a bit to get him to run on my blue track, as I did with Gator and Timothy. Again, it's all a hit-or-miss with the consumer base; some like it, some don't, and others are on the fence. Just give it a little time to grow on you-- one engine and its two cars aren't enough to make a definitive decision regarding the line. RE: 2015 Fisher Price Trackmaster - Super - 02-28-2015 RE: 2015 Fisher Price Trackmaster - ROCKINATOR - 02-28-2015 I haven't purchased any revolution trains yet, and from the "hit and miss" description I think I'll stick to plarail for now. RE: 2015 Fisher Price Trackmaster - MuddyPoppins - 02-28-2015 I'm just disappointed in its design and ideology.. I really don't like the idea of modifying something brand new to get it to work, as altering something from a pristine state decreases anythings value... Also the old Fisher Price line was already substandard to Plarail in quality, but these Revolutions are inferior to the inferior line..just not even the same animal. Nothing about a new train and an old one is the same...Nothing. The old trains are GONE! That's why I titled this 2015 Trackmaster... I don't consider them as upgrades but as complete replacements to the Old FP's... To hold a revolution in one hand and an old FP in the other is like comparing a tomy against the latter.. It's the sad decline of civilization even to the smallest level in toys as well.. They are the equivalent of a cheap dime store at the counter trinket. Muddy is a long time collector with a more than impressive collection and knowledge of these trains, we value his knowledge, opinion and input. Your comment was not constructive and seemed to be quite a personal attack on his opinion. If in future you feel the need to comment your disagreements about certain topics you could just say "I disagree" or similar. RE: 2015 Fisher Price Trackmaster - MuddyPoppins - 03-01-2015 My apologies if I offended anyone else as well with my criticism and dislike of the new FP product...Tootally is right I should get a life, though I must confess I do enjoy the one I am currently experiencing... ...and to my defense if FP hadn't decided to completly reinvent/ reissue/ recreate a completey new product and force me to integrate it into a collection that was a 6 year long tedious exhaustive search that had only recently been completed, and made me completely start all over again.... I'd be at the beach. Not at home broke because I spent my last $50 bucks on junky crash and repair trains. |
