Those peppermint (candycane) tankers would look good on a holiday train. Hmmm, thanks for bringing this up as I have one of those 
I was at my local Walmart yesterday and they had a ton of the original Trackmaster Thomas and Friends trains ranging in price from about $10 to $15 US dollars. They had more of the original ones than the new style.
