That's probably one of the reasons they didn't sell well; high prices diverted attention, and even clearance prices had them waiting for months before being sold off.

Plus they aren't good runners on a layout that has a lot of track running through the 3" risers as sometimes the "hinge" on the top one side will catch them while going through creating derailments and moving some of the risers. Wasn't worth the hassle or the price and they ended up in the box of stuff we don't use.
