These boxes seem to be from Germany: The Zoo box says: "TOMY SPIELWAREN GmbH, Balbiererstraße, 8510 Fürth / Bayern. Made in Taiwan", and has description and contents list in Italian, Dutch, Danish, German, English and French. Tivoli Gardens is an amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen, Denmark. The park opened on 15 August 1843 and is the third-oldest operating amusement park in the world.
nice work. i love the old "merry go" sets, and its great to see the different variations that were made.
my website address has changed: https://sunscollections.weebly.com/
Great finds Dr Chris. The engine variations are cool.
I have a few of the Tivoli engines
The orange top on blue chassis is a mismatched pair, the bottom two are correct Interestingly, the blue chassis that came with mine have an extra plastic "overhang" protecting the rim drive - it isn't on the white chassis... ...or any Merry Go engines I have seen on eBay... ...or, indeed, the other Tivoli trains posted by chrisjo above
I have a website where I have been writing about and photographing many of the sets and pieces that I find interesting.
