At school today I turned it on it keeps slowing down and then when I turned it on at lunch it making the chuffing noise but the wheels weren't moving

That is normal. And these are pretty old so my recommendation would be to wait on your blue track to arrive, and run it on there. You would need to let it run vs trying to stop the wheels, etc...

Ah, yeah that does appear to be a bit different than before. This could be possibly some ting with a resistor or the motor, but please try new batteries first. The batteries look to be cheaper ones that I have used before and they drain really quickly. I have had it where it will have enough power to make sounds but not power the engine.

From your new video, please understand that these TnA trains have 6 different tracks each causing a different set of sounds/talking and action. Moving the train back and forth over the same track will not cause a different result. As mentioned before as well, holding the wheels or manually moving the train while it is in can cause the plastic gears to crack.
