An Alfie conundrum... - Tons of Trackmasters - 08-03-2024 Okay everyone, buckle up! This is a very confusing episode that happened today, I was scrolling through Canadian Facebook marketplace, scouring for the diamond in the rough (Alfie) when i spotted this listing...John Kerry An Alfie, Ned, White face troublesome truck, Percy meccano set (first thomas toy ever produced) $700 CAD, "message for pricing on individual items." Naturally i am gripped by this. I hurridly message a (Canadian)friend of mine who happens to own 3 alfies (he's coming for you Muddy!) and recieve an interesting response: "but thats a scam one, I found that too im 99% sure its a scam" but whyever so? it all looks perfectly reasonable i think to myself "heres the thing, I dont think this is this guys collection number 1 give away is the coolprops thomas. who would sell it that fast and the guys pfp isint even him if you reverse search it is comes from somewhere else" This is true, is there any more evidence, i ask, rather confusedly, perhaps the son was a keen collector! "but the most fishy thing of them all is that I offerd 30 CAD for Alfie, Oliver, White face truck and Ned. He went to go ask his son if that was okay and his son said yes, If his son was a collector shouldnt he have known their value?" at this point my friend stopped messaging the seller This is all rather darning evidence i would say, but would anyone here like to add? I personally am quite perplexed. Is this a scam or an honest attempt to sell off a pretty substantial collection? (apologies for the formatting, its currently 2:30am and i am just pressing buttons XD) RE: An Alfie conundrum... - Destination Realization - 08-03-2024 Excuse me but I dare say this is 1000000000000% percent real image, but seller is kinda suspicious, so image real, actual thing, idk RE: An Alfie conundrum... - Therealblack64YT - 08-04-2024 One way to know if its a scam or not is by asking for pictures of a item with the date of today in the image. If the seller is not willing to take the pic/ignores you then walk away. This listing is a scam as the person who listed the listing does not own the stuff pictured. I created this image in about 5 seconds using an online AI image generator. I have no doubt I could produce a totally convincing image of Alfie superimposed on the front page of one of today's papers with very little more effort. RE: An Alfie conundrum... - Therealblack64YT - 08-04-2024 another way to verify if the person has the item is by asking for more pictures if they are inconsistent then walk as fast as possible. RE: An Alfie conundrum... - Destination Realization - 08-04-2024 isn’t that what happened with Wrath?
