RE: Did Mattel/Fisher Price release more engines from the Great Race? - Ucwepn - 02-13-2017 That special is still just coming out in some places. RE: Did Mattel/Fisher Price release more engines from the Great Race? - Off The Rails - 02-13-2017 It's honestly baffling how little merchandise support this movie got. Seems like Mattel put everything into that darn Sky High Bridge Jump (yeah, Santa brought one to my son) while leaving fans high and dry without Trackmaster versions of many major characters. Most stores near me didn't even carry the characters that were released! It just seems odd considering how heavily hyped Great Race. RE: Did Mattel/Fisher Price release more engines from the Great Race? - leylandvictory2 - 02-14-2017 fisher price released Blue Annie and Carrabelle and a Thomas that can transform into a jet or airplane. I got the last one at Wal-Mart Yesterday as I have a thing for coaches . The coaches are pretty disappointing. Fisher Price basically slap stickers on the box cars. The coaches are way smaller than the traditional Annie and Carrabelle. I don't have time to open the box yet. Hopefully I will do it soon . Edit: I found a picture on ebay, http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Thomas-Friends-Trackmaster-lot-Winged-Thomas-Hugo-Skiff-Ryan-Jerome-/262848831788?hash=item3d3302e12c:g:TM0AAOSwCU1Yn8Bk RE: Did Mattel/Fisher Price release more engines from the Great Race? - Miksolo - 02-14-2017 (02-13-2017, 09:24 PM)Off The Rails Wrote: It's honestly baffling how little merchandise support this movie got. The focus was really on Wooden Railway and Take 'N' Play, as well as ad revenue. You're probably thinking "what do you mean by ad revenue," so I'll explain: the Thomas Creator Collective has been shoehorning the International Engines into stories since they were introduced, with the excuse that the events of "Night of the Diesels" made it so that they needed so much extra help, despite the fact that characters that were unharmed in Night of the Diesels, such as Murdoch, Stanley, etc. could easily fill in for the Steam Team and Ryan while they were being repaired. The TCC has only grown more popular since its beginning, and a lot of the fanbase at this point are young children, so the producers aren't willing to tone it down with the Internationals due to fears that toy sales will decrease. |
