My son and I just watched the Great Race since it just became available on PBS.
We both (and wife, too!) enjoyed this short feature film, it was really fun, especially watching new colorful engines, creativity and in context.
I noticed few of the engines like Streamlined Gordon (Shooting Star) is/was available in stores as Trackmaster, and Streamlined Thomas as Take-N-Play, but I didn't see others. Does anyone know if FP released more engines from the movie?
There is a motorized railway Yong Bao coming but it likely wont be available in the west as collectable railway is only sold in Asia and South America.
Trackmaster revived a toatal of 4 characters a streamlined Thomas, Shooting star Gordon , flying Scotsman, Trophy Thomas and 2 semi character racing stripes Percy and talking diesel

Thanks for the replies, I wasn't aware the Trophy Thomas was part of the Great Race collection since he didn't look like that in the movie.
I just looked at FP website again, looks like they updated the website.
They even released disguised diesels, pretty cool. I like the Take-N-Play's better, but those are mostly out of stock now, like Ashima, pretty iconic in the movie, would have looked great next to Streamlined Thomas.
Sorry for the late reply, If you watch the paining scene thomas has a mini montage and apears like that for a few moments.

I think my personal faviroute was diesels song, it's full of suprises to say the least!

Plarail is getting Streamlined Thomas, Shooting Star Gordon, Ringing in Tekoro Ashima, and Ringing in Tekoro Streamlined Thomas.

I don't mean any offense when I say this, but how come so many people seem to be so behind in the news? It was pretty clear about 3 months ago that The Great Race wouldn't get any more merchandise from Mattel, and almost everyone and their grandmothers seemingly had all of the characters in the ranges they were known to collect.
