RE: Latest "Bundle" - HankAmericanEngine - 05-23-2015 I've a mass of those couplings, both hooks and eyes. They're a nuisance for me with my collection but, if you need any, don't hesitate to ask for some! It's occasionally troublesome when either a hook or an eye breaks, and spending roughly $10.00 U.S. for replacements isn't something I'm keen on. RE: Latest "Bundle" - Nigels - 05-23-2015 Thanks for the offer Hank, I managed to find some fairly cheap on EBay for now, but if I end up needing more I'll drop you a line RE: Latest "Bundle" - Nigels - 05-26-2015 Well thanks to the help here I managed to get hold of some replacement couplings to fix the loco and carriage that had a problem, so that's all good. However while doing this and generally going through the rolling stock I found one truck which isn't Tomy, has different couplings which are much simpler - just pin and socket type - but otherwise is quite an attractive wagon as it has a molded face rather than a sticker and an integral load. I was just curious if anyone can identify it? Please see the pics below; Size-wise it is on a par with a normal Tomy thomas truck, just a little smaller but not enough to make it unusable. However the couplings would make it a little difficult to use with the standard Tomy/Trackmaster stock I think, but apart from being a decorative piece I can see potential for example in transplanting the face/load onto other rolling stock - sounds like I'm thinking of modding already lol! RE: Latest "Bundle" - Super - 05-26-2015 Interesting, I like the coal load and face plate. I like the way you think. Wonder if there is a way to remove the gray wagon with face and load and glue it on a flat bed Tomy chassis or maybe the Trackmaster 2 wagon chassis is the right size for a transplant. RE: Latest "Bundle" - Nigels - 05-26-2015 Good thought, may be easier than using the separate components, I'll investigate and let you know what I find. Have to say I'm amazed at the ultra-quick responses on this board lol! Have a good one RE: Latest "Bundle" - ROCKINATOR - 05-26-2015 I believe that is an ertl thomas truck. it should say ertl somewhere on the underside. RE: Latest "Bundle" - Nigels - 05-26-2015 I couldn't see anything else on the underside, just the copyright message dated 2004 and made in china, but I'll give it another good look. Thanks for the tip though, its worth knowing because if the body is transferable onto a tomy type chassis I may go seeking some more RE: Latest "Bundle" - DuckGWR - 05-26-2015 (05-26-2015, 01:55 PM)Nigels Wrote: Well thanks to the help here I managed to get hold of some replacement couplings to fix the loco and carriage that had a problem, so that's all good. If you were still looking for information, I believe you have a De Agostini Truck 2. Here's the Thomas Wikia page on the subject. They're kinda hard to find on eBay because they have no branding underneith, but here's an example of what they are sometimes listed as. 2004 Plastic Thomas are usually your best search terms as far as eBay goes. |
