After 2 weeks of nail biting suspense, USPS international delivery finally came through, as our "Golden Ticket" arrived in Japan today!!!
Our wonderful connection in Japan has successfully and officially entered us into the Silver Thomas Lottery drawing!!!

Lol no, it's not solid silver, just a metallic silver plastic coating, but it has a limited production run of only 100...it will be the second rarest Thomas model ever produced, just ahead of Blushing Thomas (360) and just behind Gold Thomas...there will be millions of entries into a lottery, of which only 100 lucky winners will be drawn!!
...it's what all the hubbub was about with the "gold ball" and entry ticket prize that was randomly placed to find in the new PLARAIL Thomas & Merlin Coal Hopper set.

Well there is still time to enter (mail-in deadline is 5/30/18), but there is a paper coded ticket with instructions that has a photo scan stamp that takes you to the website to register online. The website is only in Japanese and the contest is for "residents of Japan only". The ticket accompanies the gold ball when it is found, but the gold ball is "not to be returned by mail", just the ticket. Once the online form is submitted AND the ticket has been received by Takara Tomy, only then is the official registration confirmed.

Wouldn't this be a bit ridiculous seeing as the gold ball by itself means nothing???
