More Treasures FromJapan..

So this is a combination of a few different lots (6) total from FromJapan as well as a couple eBay purchases from a Japan seller as well. I was shocked to come home and find the eBay package on my door step and a note to go and pick up the FromJapan box, as it was quite large. See below:

At any rate, the eBay purchase was the two Dianey trains (Toy Story and Parade). These are ones I have been watching for some time since getting the Minnie Sweeta train awhile back. Finally found them for a reasonable price so I pulled the trigger.

Next up we have track lot. This had the double turnout track switches which is why I purchased. What I did not realize is that it did not have the small half curves which have special connectors. I can still use these if connecting them together but if anyone sees the curves, let me know. It was only 100¥ so that's why I snagged it.

Next up is the very "pink" Postpet Enoden set. As mentioned in my other thread this is one that I have been trying to get for awhile now. I am happy to report my daughter loves it. Big Grin. Although only played with it for about 2 minutes. Cool

Not pink, but purple, which was also a hit. Big Grin

Finally.... The piece de resistance.. Well my favorites so far from this lot of things. First is the D51-200 boxed set. This thing is awesome. If you do not have one and have a chance to get one, get it. The steam and the steam engine sounds are awesome. Also I picked up the D51-498, although no box, I was still excited to get this one. The 498 I like a tad bit more as it seem to run raster and sounds a bit clearer. Both though were very clean and ran/steamed well.

Well I think that is all for now. If anyone is wondering, the shipping for this lot FromJapan was quite expensive. If you are thinking of purchasing a large lot or multiple lots I can give some more input through a PM on what it cost me and what the weight/dimensions were etc...

Side note. Plarail Ryan is on order and I am planning on getting the Disney Musical Parade set soon.

Wonderful purchases. I actually quite like the Toy Story train, though it would've been better if they recreated the train from Toy Story 3 like LEGO did.

The double track switches are also quite interesting, and if you had those male-female connector pieces, you could've connected them the way you arranged them in this photo (though they do allow for some interesting layout sections).

That transparent pink track looks really strange. I had no idea there was a set like that (definitely not surprised your daughter likes it).

Does the grey track originally belong to that D51 set? If it does, it looks awesome compared to the generic blue type that everyone has. I just wish they made a better style of reinforced power connectors, because these almost completely ruin the look of any item that uses them (especially with the tender being too far from the engine in this case. How are the driver and fireman supposed to shovel the coal like that?).

Have to say that was a lucky day for you, Ripley.

Thanks DalaGStanator,

Yes the grey track is what is included with this set. This is really the first grey track I have other than the platform type track. I would agree on the connectors. Having repaired several of the Real Steam Thomas engines as well as Rocky, I know the wires can snap inside very easily. Having the 50 phrase talking engines, it would be great if they could make th real steam like those. Those have a powered engine and the tender/coach is the talking piece with it's own set of batteries, etc...

I agree, was very lucky to get these lots, and that they arrived on the same day was a bonus.

Nice collection there Mr Ripley, really love the steam loco's and nice to hear they run nicely, now I'll have to look our for some for myself lol!

Also surprisingly I love the incredibly almost radioactive PINK set, I could live with one of those also, now if they could only make a flourescent green one to go with it and who would need highs lol!!!

P.S. Don't forget a video soon or else AC wll say your thread is a waste of time Wink
Happily collecting things all my life... Big Grin

Just ordered my latest shipment FromJapan. Should be here next week. Of course there are a few TnA items but a couple other cool things I found.

Side note. I received my Platail Ryan the other day. Once again I was amazed at the difference in quality from the TMR Ryan and the Platail version.

Pictures to come soon. Big Grin
