IK I'm probably not the first on here to mention this, but I thought I'd let you guys know that the mysterious red engine has been revealed. He, along with LBSC green Thomas, were just released today as Walmart exclusives. His name is Glynn, and he resembles the locomotives known as "Coffee Pots." These were mentioned in the Railway Series Surprise Packet, as well as in The Island of Sodor: Its People, History and Railways. In-universe, the Sodor coffee pots were never photographed, but several real ones were. They look like this:
They were nicknamed coffee pots due to their vertical boilers and tendency to cough up dirty brown water. If you compare the coffee pots to Glynn, the similarities become obvious. Now of course Mattel has limitations, so they couldn't make his model hollow, but they did sort of simulate the lack of surface on the locomotive by painting it mostly black.
So what do you guys think? Are you going to be buying the two new The Adventure Begins locomotives?
