Thought it might be fun to have a thread where we can post trains(Thomas related, real, and others) that we'd like to see Plarail make.
Starting off, the Keisei 3200 series, a new type being introduced on the Keisei Electric Railway in Tokyo this year. I really like the design of this unit, it feels very modern while also keeping the classic Keisei styling and color scheme. I think it's highly likely it will get a Plarail as they have really been on a Keisei(and Keisei subsidiary) kick recently, with the 3100 series being released in February of last year, followed by re releases of the Shin-Keisei 80000 in April and the Hokuso 7500 in October.
Another train I'd love would be the one from the popular 2001 Ghibli film Spirited Away, a two car unit based on the Meitetsu 3400 series. In the film, the train operates on track submerged in several feet of water, a scenario based loosely on a real event during the Ise Bay Typhoon of 1959 where a 3400 series operated on track sitting just above the water.
An electric train(unless it has magical properties like the one in the film of course ) cannot really operate with the wheels and motors actually submerged, as the water would short the axle mounted traction motors. I've always wondered why Plarail has never made this train; the film and scene are extremely popular and iconic, and Takara Tomy already has the rights to produce it as they've made a diecast Tomica version. There is precedent for making trains that only appear in anime as well, Plarail has produced both a Galaxy Express 999 and a Demon Slayer Mugen Train. The only(admittedly silly) reason I could think of would be they'd be worried about people submerging it in water to recreate the iconic scene, thus potentially damaging metal components inside.
So, what trains would you like to see Plarail produce?
