For a Plarail clone, that looks fairly high quality to me (same with the other trains on the back of the box). Would've liked if the coaches had been the same length as the loco and the light would've gone into the headlights, but it's otherwise one of the better ones. It also sounds like it doesn't have proper gearing due to its speed and quietness, which would likely affect its performance in certain areas. Not a bad depiction of a China Railways DF4B (something TOMY apparently never made), and the on/off button looks a bit "cleaner" than the typical switch. Thanks for sharing, Super.
I would love to see a video of the other offerings especially of that black steamer. I would also like to see and feel the quality of those motor and chassis units. Wonder if they are available for those of us in the west?
You'll probably find them on AliExpress if they originate in China, there is all sorts of stuff on there

Excellent idea Nigels....my searching didn't turn up anything, maybe I am just a bad researcher or the train is too new to make it on AliExpress yet.
This is the website of the brand LDCX:
https://www.chinaldcx.com/ They seem to be best known for a range of shinkalion-style transformers. But look at all that stuff behind the logo! Follow the link to a video here: https://v.qq.com/x/page/l3238aa5bkp.html In the 'west' they go by the name LinGDONG. There's even an A4 Pacific (Mallard) version: See if you can get the various 'animations' (downloadable MP4 files) on this page to work: https://www.chinaldcx.com/enFamily/trainrobot.html There's something called a World Trains Collection (with F-units?) and a bunch of track accessories.
They even made double tracks and double switches! And it differs from Tomy's track... 😮
And U-turns, bridges, stations...! It's somewhat hard to find non-transforming models. There are some at Chinese ToysRUs, I see. On AliExpress I found only transforming models. Then there are many models on something called TaoBao and Yesmem (never heard of these sites).
