A Flat Drive Thomas??? I didn't know there was such a thing!

Yeah it very much exists. It was released in 2012 and was sold most notably in the greatest moments pack thomas with annie and clarabel

Thank you GG-Fan. Quite the odd one...is this rare or hard to find now? Were there Thomas's released after this one that reverted back to the compact Thomas motors?

it's not really that rare, when i looked up listings, i don't think, there are any thomas' released with the compact motor anymore, though maybe more variations. I'm not sure. Some knockoffs also have the motor,

He was also released with a truck and also as a single unit.

I had no idea that he was released so much with a flat drive. It doesn't look like one can tell the difference from just looking at the outside of Thomas to know if its the flat drive unit right, or don't I see it?

The very short switch and cg face make it pretty easy to tell apart from other trackmaster thomases (such as the 2010 one)
