I thought it Russian as well, why it has that I have no idea, a European language I could have understood but Russian?!?  Still who knows with Mattel/FP lol  Mad bunch of buggers running that company it seems of late...

Yes, I agree that the Russian on the box is odd. I can't recall any toy that had just English and Russian only. Like Nigel says, you would think it would be a more universal European language like German or Spanish than Russian.
