Missing Clear C62 weight

If anyone else noticed during our last YouTube video, that one of the clear C62’s was having problems on the layout (I did) THIS is why:

The one that we just got is missing a very beautiful shiny silver heavy weight that is supposed to screw into the inside of the cab roof.
Can this weight be found inside of the other C62 models, so that it could be replaced and restored?

The concepts of weights in C62 that were introduced in 1978 were reused in 2003. Very interesting. My weights will never be found alone as it is exclusive to my C62, so it’s impossible.

For your case, try looking for a C-62 in the triple formation box. You can try looking for the Tsubame Special Set or the Triple SL set. Best of luck.

Thank you Vio!
I have a feeling that it’s maybe not going to be easy to find?

Relatively easy to find if you can find a standalone C62 in Yahoo Auctions (but hard to determine).
You might also want to try looking for the C62 Set, that is an even better guess.
But the weights alone will be hard to find.

hmmmm interesting. I'd like to know what happened to the first weight in the first place and why it's missing. Like Vio said, if you find a C62 from the same era as the clear one the weight should be the same

But it seems the C62 set was a better guess not because of the same era, but the same chassis as the clear C62.

I don't think it will that hard to find. You just need to find a junker, either a regular black C-62-2 engine that came in the original double sound set or a junk Galaxy Express 999 both of which have what looks like the same weight.

I wonder if yours was a factory snafu as I can't see anyone who knows these train taking this out of a rare engine for another. Does it even have threads in the post where a screw would have been?

Sorry about the blur...

But the GE999 is way too expensive and the price of such a junk GE999 could go up to 3500 yen so do be careful.

Looking at some video it looks like any motorized C-62 has the weight. I just wayched one with the C-62-3 that looked like it had it although I had to peer through the cab window to see it. Not sure if this release is a Plarail Shop exclusive.

The C62 3 is an expo exclusive of some sort
