My Cranky Amazon Adventure  Exclamation

I really liked this new FP Cranky: it's rather big, engines can go through it, and it comes with a nice orange little troublesome truck with a lovely modeled face. So I decided to buy it.

Amazon.com was not an option. USD 130.56 "Shipping & Import Fees" for a 20 Dollars item? I wonder, did good people from Amazon.com somehow confused Europe, where I live, with Europa, one of the Jupiter's moons? Big Grin

Now, Amazon UK was OK. There the price was some 16 or 17 Pounds, but on the day I decided to buy it the price suddenly dropped. Now Cranky was only GBP 8.33 (GBP 13.13 with Shipping & Handling):

So I bought that Cranky. That was on January 11th. The very next day the price goes up, and Cranky was now GBP 16 (plus GBP 11.08 Shipping):

Amazon UK has obviously concluded that I bought it too cheaply, so they sent it to me with the absolute slowness champion among the shipping operators, some company called ASNDI (never heard of them). Their tracking number is useless if the sender didn't pay for tracking services (Amazon, of course, didn't). They must be using horse-drawn carriages, and rowing boats for crossing the English Channel, because Cranky came only on Thursday. That was so slow that I already got this message on my Amazon UK Orders-page:

But, Cranky was not lost. He finally arrived and here he is:

I removed the stand with built-in rail (because it's a Trackmaster rail). Cranky's face is very nice and you can turn the dials on Cranky's head and base to lift his hook and spin him around (360°).

I think he is looking very smart, here in my Harbour. His name is printed (not a sticker), and he is full of little rivets (you'll like them, Super Big Grin ).

There are two lobster-boxes that can be lifted by Cranky: the yellow one with lobster sign, and a clear one with two little plastic red lobsters inside. They both fit the truck, but if you put them inside, you can go through Cranky, but you won't make it under the bridges or through J-13, J-26 stations, and other elements on your Plarail layout.

The Little orange troublesome truck is very small but really nice, has plastic axles and wobbles while in motion (like Nia's trucks).

Both Cranky and the truck are very nice additions, don't you think? Smile

SEIBU RAILWAY SERIES 30000 DORAEMON-GO! TRAIN

Doraemon, blue earless robot-cat from the 22nd century celebrates 50 years! Doraemon (Japanese: ドラえもん [doɾaemoɴ]) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Fujiko Fujio (the pen name of the duo Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko). The series has also been adapted into a successful anime series and media franchise. The story revolves around an earless robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels in his time-travel machine back in time from the 22nd century to aid a boy named Nobita Nobi.

In October 2020, Seibu Railway unveiled the ‘Doraemon Go!’ train, which runs on the transport company's Shinjuku, Tamako and Haijima lines. The special-edition eight-carriage train is blue, with its plush seats emblazoned with Doraemon’s famous bottomless pocket. The doors that lead to the other carriages are also decorated with the pink frame of the mysterious dokodemo door, which often appears in the manga and anime series as a portal that could transport the users to anywhere they desire. The front of the train and the doors are featuring the character’s red button nose and whiskers.

Plarail model is a very accurate copy of the real train. It's a fast one-speed classic Plarail three-cars-commuter train, and it comes with 4 Doraemon stickers you can apply on the body of the train if you want. In the video, Doraemon-Go! trains are travelling on our big central circle lines 301 and 302, while on other lines, as well the mountain line, you can see our Doraemon trams!

Side note: Doraemon train has three positions on it's speed switch: OFF-ON-HI. Obviously, they used the mold of the earlier model of Series 30000. But, this particular train has only one speed; it's a very very fast train...
