That’s an odd but still cool looking train. If I was ever going to spend time in Kyoto Prefecture, I would definitely want to ride it! I could almost imagine building a Plarail layout with the famous maple tree “tunnel” to run it on. I’m not sure if this train ever uses that line but it would look cool anyway.
Weird little factoid: Aside from the Shinkansen, Eizan Railway is one of the few 4 foot 8 1/2 inch lines in Japan.
I see what you mean about the interior. It’s basically just a commuter train with perhaps a slightly more flashy finish. Man, that’s really disappointing!
Yeah it looks a lot like the interior of the newer London underground trains, made to be cattletrucks with the intention of getting as many people onboard as possible...
