Many here know my penchant for acquiring Disney Branded Plarail or Tomy items so I had to grab this vintage Station new in its old box. Box is certainly not perfect and the tape that was used to seal it and the bag inside was old, brittle and lost its stick. I am not exactly sure the date of release but the Tomy Logo on the bottom was used between 1967-1981. It also has the figures that were part of the first renditions of Tomy's Disney Western River Railroad train coaches that had these figures that sat on posts in the coach whereas the later Western River Railroad train coaches were affixed with PlaKid seating.
The J-21 Crossing with lights and sound is the first rendition where the newer re-release of the same crossing had a red base with blue roof, The electronics can be set to constantly on, off or automatic when a train passes over. One thing that was problematic with the older automatic type scenic track accessories like this one is the the track parts were smooth and sometimes longer train engines slipped because they lost traction on the smooth track. This also was new in the box and came from the same seller as the vintage Disney Station so the box is in the same condition. Almost like these were keep in an outside shed or something.
