tomy thomas push n go trains

ok, so this is a bit of an odd-ball question, but bear with me please.

so, the tomy rabbit hole swallowed me many years ago, and during that time, as i have been collecting, i also put together a basic database of stuff i havent found yet, and any variations of paint, design and other differences.

one range was the tomy push n go toddler trains, which of course features thomas and friend, specifically thomas, james percy and even the fat controller in his car.
my hunt has identified 3 different variations released over the years, mainly in the drivers but also in the style of the engines themselves. i will use the driver desciptions to make things easier: squat body, painted face and molded face.

squat body: the driver is square and basic. the earliest design. the engines are also basic, with chunky wheels that stick outside the body.

painted face: the driver is taller, has painted eyes and mouth with a molded nose. likely the second design? the engines have been cleaned up.

molded face: the driver has a proper molded face with recesses for the eyes. the most recent design? the engines faces may have been updated.

now, with thomas i have been able to find images from all 3 variations which makes sense given he is the most popular character. with james i have been unable to locate any evidence of a painted face model, and percy has not been seen in the molded face.

does anyone recall, from searching ebay, google or jauce, seeing the ones i am missing from the database? they may not have released all 3 characters across all variations, and this is partially supported by the fact i have found images of a paint splatter thomas and buzz buzz james, both with molded face drivers.

thanks in advance Smile

I don't think I have seen these before and I know I haven't heard the term "Push n Go". I have heard of the term "Pull n Go but not Push or these the kind that you have to "Push" them several times to "Wind Up" the power before letting them Go on the Floor? They are pretty cute, how big are they?

EDIT:
Oh now I see and there are quite a lot of these on Ebay but probably not what you are looking for.
thanks, super. they are quite large, designed for toddlers to play with. push the driver down, and away it goes. they do a whole range, including generic trains, trucks, planes and a couple of others.

there are loads on ebay, just none with the two face types i am hunting for on those specific characters.

on the up side, my hunting did bring to light a couple of variations of other tomy toddler trains that i was not aware of, which is nice.

LOL...one Collection leads to another and another and another. Smile Wink Big Grin
that is very correct! at first it was "i will stick to the battery trains", then it went to "well, i like the big loaders and they are getting harder to find" and finally "anything with tomy on it that is a train." even that last has slipped, but the age of the toy or sentimental value gets into me and before you know it...

i really have no will power with some things, lololol.
