I don't try to promote it but I reuploaded all the pictures from Amazon to the wiki for convenience.

The wiki. I only posted it then because it has a convenient gallery of images to view the range at first glance. I don't think it's usually helpful to post wiki links as sources since they're fan run websites. Also, on the couple of odd occasions I've posted links on other sites years ago, they get taken down by people who think it's spam.
You can Post your Wiki Links all you want here as it is a valuable source of information here and welcomed and you aren't advertising to make money.

That ends about 30 years of it being on public television and since Nick is now “premium” level in many markets, kids like mine don’t see new episodes anymore, even if those episodes are mushy and dumbed down.

And that was after they said they would launch it on Netflix!  Granted, Netflix doesn't have quite as high of quality standards as public television, but, come on, Mattel!  They are supposedly trying to leverage Thomas to compete with other brands, but they're just shooting themselves in the foot with everything they do!

Mattel thinks they're going in the right direction but they just think the new Trackmasters are better than the old ones but that's wrong. The new engines from Trackmaster look absolutely ridiculous and they think the older ranges look ridiculous but it's vise versa. They just had to kill all the good ranges.

All Mattel does is lie about the new range, they think kids should get their products instead of Plarail, one day, Trackmaster might die. Tomy could force Mattel to give the rights of motorized engines back to them. Who thinks Plarail makes the better engines than Trackmaster does now?
Making Customs, Filming Videos and looking for the purest engines. That's how I roll here on Blue Plastic Tracks.

Since Mattel owns Thomas pretty much out right (I’m not sure what, if any, rights are retained by Christopher Awdry and/or his father’s estate), they have ultimate control over all licensing. If they wanted to end Tomy’s right to produce Thomas toys, they probably could. I suspect there’s a sort of “gentleman’s agreement” between the two companies where Mattel agrees to let Tomy produce Thomas items and Tomy doesn’t fight Mattel over production rights they share (Disney properties, for example).

I only buy current Trackmaster items for my kids and even they are increasingly unimpressed. Rarely, Mattel will still make a pretty decent product, like Trackmaster Lexi, but mostly, the stuff if kinda lame and lackluster. If there’s a Plarail alternative, it will almost always be better. Yeah, there’s the travesty of the newly redesigned Edward but let’s just ignore him for now!

About the only thing I like with the current Trackmaster line is the basic, dark gray track. It looks more realistic than Plarail blue track and except for stop tracks and a few special features, Plarail engines work fine on it.
