So this lot was inspired (er, uh, caused by Super)...lol. There will be a few posts related to the contents of the lot(s) I won and have received today. Super had helped me out and been on the lookout for the elusive white EF, which was only released in a particular set. I ended up winning the one he sent me the link too and then later won a second one. The red and silver ones I ended up winning too in separate lots but they are not in the best shape. The other crown jewel in this post is the EF63 Sound Set. I was not even looking for this one as they tend to go for crazy amounts but this one was part of a large lot of boxed trains. I have not gone through the set but it looks mostly new in the box but has been opens.

Go figure, the EF sound set had batteries in the sound unit.. corrosion everywhere. Guess they will be in the repair shop.
Just one of those drawbacks of not being able to have direct contact with a seller in the Japan Auctions and there isn't an easy way to return anything so we are all kind of stuck there. People will never learn as its been going on since batteries were invented that they should be removed when not in use. Batteries of today, I believe, are less likely to leek than the batteries of 50 years ago but they still do. Too bad, but at least this went to a genius that can fix it.
Trouble is we all do it occasionally, leave batteries in devices I mean, not on purpose often just by mistake or because you intend to use the thing they are in only to forget or get distracted and then forget. I remember this happening to me with a brand new Sony minidisc player not so many years ago. I had a player only one and someone gave me a better recorder model as a present, so I put batteries in to test it and then put it back in the box intending to switch it for my other one for my daily commutes then promptly forgot. Next time I pulled it out the cupboard as I remembered it a few months later the batteries (Energiser so good brand supposedly) they had leaked all into the player totally destroyed it. Never bought Energiser since, although I've even known Duracell to leak on occasion despite their claims!
