Winnie The Pooh Fun Fair Train Set

I thought we had a thread discussing this set or at least somewhere with info on it but I can't find it. Does anyone know the year of release? It has the Red Tomy Logo so I would assume that it was released between 1981 to 2000. I also assume that since it is branded Disney that this may have only been released at Tokyo Disneyland which was opened in 1983. So I guess I have 2 questions...

What year was it released?
Was it exclusive to Tokyo Disneyland?

hi super, i checked my set, and the only piece with a date was the green base for the ferris wheel: 2000. the engine, wagons, box and instructions are not dated anywhere. mine is the english box, and has references to tomy uk on it.

I didn't think of looking for a year anywhere else besides the box and engine so as you did I took a look at the other parts and found mine to be the same with only the year 2000 on the underside of the Ferris Wheel. So because of this and the fact that it has the older, red, Tomy Logo, I will have to make the assumption that it was released in 2000.

I find it interesting that the sets themselves are exactly the same but the boxes, both front and back, have totally different graphics. I would have assumed that the graphics were the same and only the language different.

I now also have to assume that because an English version was released in the UK that this set was not a Tokyo Disneyland Exclusive or, possibly, not even sold in the park.

I have had to make a lot of assumptions on this one and since it was also released in an English version, might we have a source in the UK where we can find its release date?

Doh.... I don't know why I didn't think of this before but.....thanks to Mr Ripleys wonderful Plarail Retail Catalog Collection specifically the 2000-2001 edition, it was indeed the year 2000 for release as it states on page 22. Furthermore it was released as the full set and as just the train, which I didn't know. Not only does this answer my year of release question it confirms that this was not a Tokyo Disneyland exclusive since these are the retail catalogs.

Now looking at the picture it looks like there is a color variation between the set and the individual train. Could that be? The purple for the engine and the rear car looks to be lighter that the individually sold train. Anyone able to confirm that or might this be just a photography difference? I know....more questions
