It looks like they may just be fishing as they have a couple trains, that although new in box, are very high but just like beauty, its in the eyes of the beholder collector. I have noticed here on the US Ebay there are a lot more Japanese sellers selling used Plarail trains and items. Some with cheaper prices that are driving down the prices we have been getting for some hard to find items here in the States.

The seller selling the Donald and Douglas got the set for around £400 - 500 from what I remember when it was on Jauce back in January 2017. And because there is no other of these Plarail Donald and Douglas Snowplough Set available elsewhere, the seller can easily make the value whatever he chooses it to be.
Yes. At the end of the day, buyer determines the price.
