WAW,
Unfortunately this is a downside to the TnA engines. Some seem to be fine and have good speed like the Gordon you have, and like some others I have had or worked on. Others are soooo slow.

Muddy can attest to my efforts in trying to figure the slowness out. I swapped out the motors, capacitors, transistors, batteries, etc... on some of the ones I was repairing for him as well as some I had as parts. I did not have much luck. I did find the replacement parts which was nice, but they still seemed a bit slow.

My only other thought was to maybe try one of the Trackmaster Revolution engine motors. I may try this on my next repair.
Also gordon might be coming to you soon, Also the next step if the superglue keeps coming un-done, Is E-Poxy. And if THAT For some unlikely reason doesnt work, Its coming to you for a full gear swap.

Also if that works, I'll send james to you with gordon for repairs, James will be a motor swap in that case and Gordon, A Gear swap, The gear that you can see through the bottom of his chassis that is on the axel.
