Happy New Year! We went ahead and did our celebration at around 8:30 US Central time because we’re old people with little kids! Netflix has several countdowns with characters from various kid shows available on demand. We also let the kids have (non-alcoholic) sparkling cider in real champagne flutes ‘cause we live dangerously like that!
Who knows, I might even still be awake at midnight! Naaaah...

Happy belated new year, this year was the first time any of the children saw midnight, Sam and Scarlett had a great time singing auld Lang syne (or at least mumbling along) and taking the piece of coal out the back door and bringing it in through the front.
