2018 Plarail Thomas Predictions

I'm really hoping we get Plarail Phillip sometime soon, I'd want him to be coach driven since he'd be too short for an engine inside.

Not so much a prediction but more of a want. I am not into the Thomas line too much and the only reason I would want Plarail (not Trackmaster) to create these would be for me to deface them. So Ideally I would want Plarail to make these modeled after the real trains these characters were designed after. That is, of course, if there are real trains. What do you think?

Out of Super's list, I know my son would definitely want Axel, Flying Scotsman and Sam. Additionally, he would want Ashima.

At the moment though, he's fixated on Merlin.

Theo would make a good Tekoro candidate. I think Fisher Price previewed Lexi earlier this year, along with a new Harvey.

If I had to guess, I'd say Merlin would be the most likely candidate for a Plarail release.

And because I said that, you will NEVER see a Plarail Merlin!

very nice picks super but because plarail already released the shooting star gordon and Thomas I don't think plural will make these. I would love to see Shane, Sam and the Flying Scotsman but I don't think that they will get made. The most likely candidate would be the Flying Scotsman if he appears in the normal tv series and not just specials. I think Ashima will get released as well as daisy (I really want this to happen) as they will both be appearing in the normal tv series next season. For the journey beyond sodor engine I would scream out to the world in excitement if they made Frankie as well as merlin.

I'm not sure what I'd expect, but Tomy making a Plarail Merlin is the only certainly I have. I feel like Lexi could be made as well since she would attract more interest in a toy than Frankie or Hurricane. A Ringing in Tekoro engine of a new character could be likely since that range has been growing.

Whilst he wasn't particularly marketed here and knowing how the Japanese marketing acknowledges almost all characters, Beresford could happen. I could see either a set with him build in as part of the destination with some cargo functions, or something on a small scale like how Owen was included in a rail map. Otherwise I could see a wagons pack based on something entirely other than the movie.

I'd like to see how Hurricane would fare, he'd be perfect for the new Plarail flat engine, as i think Plarail Connor was too long

That's true except here at Chez OTR, where a certain 5 year old is very obsessed with Sam and articulated engines in general. I know that, realistically, I'll end up having to build one by kitbashing a couple other engines. It would be nice if I didn't have to but that's how the market works nowadays. Sadly, this isn't the the era of 5-10 years ago where either or both companies would release just about every character they could.

I would like to see them redisgned oilver,Donald,salty,diesel & duck and make Douglas and maybe they can make hurricane powered by a van along with a flatbed with steel girders Frankie with two flatbed of pipes
Merlin with a pull along theo
Lexi would come with that gear truck
