turntables...

i know about these. i have always wanted them for many, many reasons.

i have always put them off. but not this particular time.

is there any difference between the tomy version vs. the tomica world version?

to further clarify,

i'm referring to the turn tables that apply to motorized road vehicles. the #7512 version, i believe.
the tomy turn table uses special tracks.
since everyone here is about google.
no offense to anyone, mind you.

leyland, you say tomy uses special tracks. can you provide a link.

if not, that is ok.
but please define"special" track
doesn't the tomica world turntable use "special" track?

furthermore, if there is a difference between the two...
what is it?
It has a different connector than the normal blue track. It is a diamondesque shape.

are you referring to a "road" rail/track?

they are, also, diamond shaped.
just trying to define terms.

aren't both sets, tomica and tomy, adaptable to "diamond" tracks?

the only thing i see different between these two genres is color.

yes?
It may have helped others if you provided a Link for us Trevor. Is this what you are talking about?

maybe i should define my goal.

i ,hope, to modify this piece. whether it be tomy or tomica.

i want to take it apart. insert an adapter. so that instead of this piece being specifically designed for road vehicles...

redesign them for engines / trains.

does this make sense?
The Plarail Chuggington trains have what you may be looking for. You sometimes can find used Chuggington items on Ebay.

engines wouldnt fit. this piece is designed to turn on the spot and send the car back the way it came. engines would be too long and the drivewheels likely wouldnt make it onto the rollers, which is what makes the table turn.

there have been train ones that do this released, but they were under the chuggington range from plarail. not sure if they can be bought seperately or not
