New PlaRail Train (for me)...

Saw this the other week and couldn't resist it as it is just lovely, the Tomy S40 - Fujiku Series 8500 Fujisan View Express.

The pictures don't really do it justice as it is a lovely gloss red colour, but as I haven't posted anything for ages thought even slightly less than perfect pictures is better than none Smile

That really is lovely! It must be popular because I noticed it sold out quickly in preorder and is now often listed as out of stock or on back order at many of the bigger Japanese hobby retailers.

Yes, I was quite disappointed, and still am, that some Sellers have had a few copies of these since the end of July which was the original release date. I have had my pre-order in at Hobby Search since May. They have never received any as of yet as I was on of the first. At the end of July they sent me a message that the release date had changed to an "After Aug" which is pretty vague to me and a strange way of listing it as they must not have any idea when they will receive their stock from Plarail. Well at least you got one Nigels, she does look good. There are still Sellers on Ebay that have them if anyone is after one, me, I will wait in hopes the Hobby Search comes through eventually..

I got mine off an eBay seller, I gave up on HobbySearch as their shipping rates are ludicrous, often working out more than the cost of the items you buy. So when it popped up on eBay at a price I considered reasonable including the postage I went for it there instead.

Have to say I'm glad I did as the quality is superb, nice moulded windows rather than stickers that we've seen on some models of late and some superb text/logo printing, some of it minute yet still clear enough to be easily read. All in all a lovely model Smile
