More Goodies From Japan

Nice bunch of stuff arrived today from Japan.

I don't know exactly why but I just liked the look of the Thomas Treasure Hunt Set with Sailor John, Skiff and Marion. Even liked the dirtied up Thomas. The set was a perfect fit for the 'Future World Collection' Smile

Okay...Okay...I hear ya....Super is now 'Tanked Out' and does not need any more Tankers...at all...unless they come up with a unique special new release I am done buying Tankers......Stop laughing. Undecided

Always liked the look of the long bed gondolas with its gas pipe loads but up until now never really pursued them. I am impressed that all the lettering is painted with no stickers. I have enough of these now but still need a few more pipe lengths to fill them all out.

Old Slow Coach is pretty cool and came with all the units of the 65th Anniversary Set except for Thomas. I suspect that Old Slow Coach is the exact form they used for the Plarail Emily Coach.

I liked the look of the 3 Barrel car. This is from Chuggington I believe but can't remember which Chuggington, can anyone help me with identifying it. I think I had asked a long time ago but have forgotten the answer or where to find the discussion. The 3 barrels are removable and I think I may custom it up with some Hazardous Waste Decas.

There are 5 McDonalds Japan self propeller engines that are pretty cool.

That's a very nice haul, Super! A nice selection of passenger coaches and more tank cars are never a bad thing. I've also been intrigued by those long, low side gondolas lately. Not only for carrying pipes but also for logging cars.

What really caught my eye was the blister card with three pieces of rolling stock. It's a neat idea that seems to have been sadly abandoned by both Tomy and Fisher Price. And if I read that price tag right, they originally sold for ¥800? Even years ago, that would've been a pretty fair price.

Yes, it was a good way for one to increase their rolling stock and even a chance to produce limited release stock that can't be found in the sets.
The Three Barrel Car comes from a Brewster and Zephie Train Car Pack.

All those express carriages, mmm

What are those wagons with the pipes in them? They look an awful lot like bufferless versions of those pipe/tree/scrap-carrying bogied wagons seen in 'Thomas'.

Thank you very much Takalua, now I know what exactly to look for. Smile

I am not sure exactly but I don't think they were made for the Thomas series. The black pipe wagons only were released by themselves in an individual box http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10048769 and a Limited Edition, Plarail Expo Exclusive EF59 3 car set. The red wagon one that had multi shaded/colored pipes came in a 3 Freight Cars only set and also in a large EF66 special 12 car set..

I don't know for someone who can't find anything new to buy Super you seem to be having a lot of shipments arriving lately lol!!

Some nice stuff there though, I was looking at that same Thomas set myself, looks really cool and has some nice rolling stock in it.

Incidentally I have a new recruit to the world of trains, my great nephew in law (Olly) is mad for trains, so much so that recently when staying with my brother and his wife he was waking my brother up at 6am on a Sunday saying "Trains granddad, play trains..." So it seems I might as well keep on looking at the Thomas stuff after all Wink
Happily collecting things all my life... Big Grin

Ahem...you must be confusing me with some other good looking, honest member here at BPT. Dodgy Did I ever say that? Undecided Now that we are on the subject, this is the absolute the last shipment I will receive as there is nothing else I need....don't you believe me? Sleepy

On another note: Look forward to seeing your Great Nephew as a member her at BPT in the future and maybe your Brother sooner as he will need to get hooked information on what to buy his son
