That's awesome Sun. It is awesome when you get a large lot and fine gems that you did not know were there, such a great feeling.. Big Grin

Now that statement I readily identify with, I really do need to sort and thin a bit, but the more I say I need to do it the less it seems to happen lol!!

And it always seems I find a new goodie before I get round to clearing some of the oldies. Latest one I got a bunch of recently were some 'mini plarail' (they are labelled as plarail as well, same box colours too) but sold under the Taito label. There is of course the possibility they are another part of the Tomy empire I suppose.

Anyway these Taito models are about the same gauge as the capsule plarail or advance trains and indeed the blue track that comes with them is identical to plarail capsule track which again hints they are Tomy in origin despite the label. But the nice thing is they are more accurate length, so not short and stubby like the capsule models, but not quite as long as the advance, somewhere in between but they look 'right'. The other nice thing is you also get powered motor cars as well unlike the clockwork plarail capsule Smile They run on those batteries that are like half size AAA's...

rokman, black box? yes, quite a bit of vintage tomy. there is a caboose lid that i can see, am assuming the body is there, as kyle was pretty good at matching things up.

nigels, are or do you have a thread for the taito models? wouldnt mind having a look if possible. its amazing how many different twists and turns the world of tomy has. in some ways i long for my childhood where collecting was limited to the vintage range found for small change at various op shops and garage sales.

Wow...look at all the stuff and all those new in the package trains. I like that dark blue banked double length curve. And look at all the original trains...awesome. I noticed some old blue track that looks different. Do you know what they are? (see pic)

thats a broken vintage slope. had been repaired, but the repair didnt hold up. i cant bear to throw it out, so will use it for something, lol.

those banked curves are awesome, though engines dont like going over them in reverse.
