Medium Sized Package Today

7 Replies, 6115 Views

Received a medium sized package today with a bunch of stuff but I will only show you what I am keeping as there were several things I MAWed (Might As Well) just for revenue purposes and other things that came along wth some purchases.

3 More rare black Hopper Cars. As you can see I have already cleaned them up and swapped in some black couplings. I have six of these now which is plenty. Figuring out how to add buffers as I think they are needed. I still don't remember where these come from.

Got a second red gravel flip car now that I know what to look for thanks to Jdogman for that info. It also has the white couplings swapped out for black. A much better look in my opinion. Still on the look out for a couple more.

I have always had an passing interest in a New Transit Yurikamome Limited release tram train but never pulled the trigger until now. By the looks of the package it may have been a Plarail Shop Exclusive but I am not sure. I always thought there was 2 releases of this. One numbered 01 with yellow wheels and this number 18 which I always assumed had grey wheels by the picture on the box so I was always after this release. Imagine my surprise when I opened this sealed, new in box one and it has yellow wheels. Am I the only one that thinks the picture on the box looks like grey wheels? Well the yellow ones will be short lived as grey is ready for the swap.

Nice scores Super. Are you going to post a few pics in the trading zone for the things you will be selling off? Big Grin.

I love the look of the hopper cars, can't wait to see them in action in your layout. How is the rebuild going?

Thanks Ripley, I agree, those black Hopper cars are cool. The trick is to find them buried in listings of multiple items and not the listing of these by themselves as they are price pretty high. For example: these three cost a total of about 2300yen but came with 15 other items in two separate auctions. A great deal when you figure in that some listings are almost this total for one Hopper car. So after selling off the additional items I pretty much get these rare Hoppers for free or darn near free with all the Fees and shipping. I feel pretty lucky in that respect.

Really the rebuild hasn't officially began with the Layout, only some changes and removals. I am waiting to do some videos the first of which is very near. The Monorail Station is pretty much done. I just have to create a couple of signs with the Stations name and some departure & arrival boards. I have found myself in a vicious circle...work on the many customs I have started, changing, moving & removing the layout, buying more stuff, going through said stuff when it arrives and cleaning & repairing the items, organizing all the items we don't want or need, packaging them, creating the listings for Ebay...getting more stuff in...and it all starts over again.

I will say that its get harder and harder to find anything to buy anymore, just not as fun as having so many wants. I know I have never said this before...but this is my last package from Japan.......ahem....wait.....I have some purple coaches waiting at the Japamart Warehouse now.....ah...er....DOH!...Might As Well!!! The revenue generating items will go straight to Ebay because that is what I need, revenue and all the others I may take a picture of but I can't guarantee there will be anything of much value.

Definitely looks like grey wheels on the packaging, but I suspect that is because it is a monochrome image by the looks of things so yellow would look grey Smile

I say this as the real things have blue stripes by the looks and I don't see blue on the image either Wink

You are probably right Nigels, but how would one know for sure by just looking at the package. Maybe if this was a Plarail Shop Exclusive they had the model on display outside the box.

How does it look now?

I agree but I wish there were more black wheels available out there as I think they would have been perfect.

Hmmm, I'm not sure, the grey ones look pretty good too. What would really look good would be to 'weather' the wheels/axles so they don't show out so much Smile
