Ok, so this isn't a 'show you what I bought' but more a 'what did YOU get or buy yourself' for Christmas?
I'll kick it off with the Lego 'Heavy Haul Train' set that I bought myself just after Christmas from the Lego Store sale
Lovely set with a red diesel loco, several trucks, a crane, other loads, oval of track, pair of points etc...
Happily collecting things all my life...
Nothing for me, I was not a good boy this year. But when you get to my stage in life, everyday is a Xmas because I buy lots of stuff for me all year long.
Happily collecting things all my life...
I got Burt's Bees lip balm and a Doctor Strange bobblehead. Hoping to acquire some TOMY/Trackmaster items soon. Maybe some modeling supplies so I can construct an engine shed? That'd be neat..
I got some Tomy Tracks, Green Tunnel, Sodor Fuel Wagon, Sodor Mail Wagon, 6 Talk n Action Tracks, 1994 Tomy Percy and Station without Caroline Maybe Later I got Talk n Action Percy because the Seller that sells me that, he's make a Mistake and send me Normal Percy instead of Talk n Action Percy
I didn't get anything for myself . I did buy some expensive stuff for my significant other
Santa brought me nothing...but my boys? Geez spoiled rotten. The little got a Chuggington (Wilson) case that rolls! Take and play engines fit great in it. Loads of take n play engines (Victor, Harvey, streamlined Thomas, Ashima and Ivan). And Glow Charlie. The older got the Wooden Railway Thomas 2pack, Glow Percy, Trackmaster Luke (w/remote), TM glow in the dark tracks and a straight pieces pack(3.99!). Santa got them both a Hot Wheels 6 lane raceway. My little discovered trains, nascars, hot wheels and MINIS roll very nicely down it also!! As for LEGOS all he wanted in the end was MINECRAFT all Minecraft. It's covering my dining room table.....Merry Christmas!!!

For a moment I read that as BUTT's BEE's LIP BALM and nearly sprayed my laptop with coca-cola lol!!
You mentioned 'modelling supplies' how about using Lego instead? You can produce some pretty cool buildings these days and the basic bricks can be bought in 'classic' boxes these days so its not so difficult to do self-builds.
I'm thinking of trying to build a 'knapford' type station out of Lego at some point

Which of course scores brownie points so there are less complaints in 2017 when you buy that 'must have' item on occassion

Nice one! Lucky kids it seems, I'm not sure if I've got a handle on this whole minecraft thing, it seems to me to major backward step. The graphics on the computer game seem to be using all that modern day processing power to produce a simulation of an old ZX Spectrum in terms of graphics. The games also seem similarly 'retro' and primitive in the extreme. Maybe I'm just missing the point, or having been around when 'retro' gaming was cutting edge I've just had my fill of it already lol!

Minecraft is about creating things, not just responding to the game, so I think of it more as this generation's BASIC. When I see those big fuzzy blocks I'm not comparing them in my head to Escape from Castle Wolfenstein (one of my own formative gaming experiences) but:
10 PRINT "Hello World"
20 GOTO 10
and in that sense it's a pretty big step up!
Oh and to stay on topic, I got myself the Minis Advent Calendar, so about a dozen new tiny trains over the course of the month. It was fun to spread them out over the whole month, even if I knew which one was coming each day
I got a Pokemon Trading Card Game Set that's been in my parents' room for two years (I don't know either), a full yard of Twix bars, Plarail Hiro, DD51, a set of automatic points, some rolling stock: Trucks and Track w/ blue truck, plant wagon, and brown & yellow brakevan, a blue open truck with some rock/china clay cargo, a MR&R mail coach, and a Trackmaster mail coach), the Trackmaster Railway Race set, ERTL Percy with Annie and Clarabel, ERTL Duck, a new Rubik's cube, a camera, and a tripod for said camera (but it's also compatible with the GoPro, so that's nice!). I also got Slime Rancher and Tales From the Borderlands on Steam from one of my friends.
...Sadly no LEGO Yellow Submarine. I'm expecting to be getting a late gift from my Mom sometime soon tho, which will be a Netflix account so that DVDs won't take up half of our house anymore, and so that I don't need to keep going on sketchy websites to watch a movie that's discontinued or that I left at home while I'm out.
