Is plarail ho scale please? Ie: 1/87
Always a good question but I don't think they can been narrowed down to the exact proper scale as even though a particular train may have its height to scale, its length is certainly not. Check out this older thread where we discuss your very question...

Thanks, yes maybe oo scale is closer, That would place them around 1/75. Midway between 1/50 and1/100 architectural scales.1/76 therefore fits the bill. Much appreciated. Having said that larger S scale may better suit trucks haha, it is a bit of a conundrum.
I think PlaRail is probably about 1/50th scale in terms of height and width, but as Super mentioned it is length restricted as most carriages/cars are about half of what they should be for true scale. But there again they don't claim to be scale models, just toys Smile

Yes I know these are toys, quite right of course but on some videos the accessories can seem wildly wrong so that started me thinking, that is all. The plarail range is more of a serious thing, if that can be said in relative terms, after all the designers take the trouble to represent actual distinctive models.
i find some of the lego buildings and minifigs a close scale to plarail. they wont be exact to each other, but close enough.

The official scale can vary wildly depending on which day of the week it is, Tomica vehicles that come with some sets are 1:64, Plakid figures seem to be closer to 1:50, buildings and other accessories often seem to be 1:64 as well simply to suit the vehicles. I like to think of them as being ok to go with anything from HO scale to almost 1:43 scale.
