Sounds nice. look forward to you getting some clearer pictures for us.

Hi all not just today but over the whole weekend we pulled up the town end of the layout, cleaned everything and moved the track closer to the side wall so it no longer hangs on the edge of disaster, then rebuilt the town section. The whole layout was very dirty from some woodwork we did last weekend.
Then over the weekend my bro helped me make these nifty permanent covers so the trains and layout can be protected while we do messy shed work. like painting and woodwork. we are making front frames for them next weekend so its easy for one person to lift each section and hook it up on the wall. And today I re-assembled some track sections and gave allot more things a clean then filmed HiT toys RC stanley quick run video.
Excellent idea about the cover. Should help to keep the dust off the layout. Layout looks great in your latest YouTube Video. I like the Bob's Coca Cola Hot Dog Stand in the village. May I ask if thats "N" scale or "HO"? I noticed that the Zombie feeding frenzy has moved on to the turntable...oh, the carnage! Soon Ucwepnville will be completely taken over and all will be lost if something isn't done soon by the town folk.
R/C Stanley runs very well and the sounds are great. It sure doesn't take mod Spencer long to complete the track loop does he? And are we going to get a closer look at Ferdinand's modded log truck?
Hi Super yes the Bob's cola is HO,
The covers are great but until the frames are finished they take a long time to deploy and then remove to play trains so I am leaving them off for the week as I have much catching up to do with filming. I want to try and do customs 6 before the weekend and I am expecting Trackmaster Gator to also arrive. Those nasty zombies hehe where will they turn up next!!?? Yes Spencer is still running as great as ever with the 3v (2.4v nimh) in the tender and ultra dash motor, he certainly gets the passengers where they need to go in a big hurry and he tracks very well as he is quite heavy Ferdinand oh Ferdinand, he is having some running problems particularly being too light at the front since I have weighted down the back and glued his slipper gear to enhance pulling power with the upgraded motor, he almost does a wheelie at times (at the worst times) like when there's an important corner. I will pull him apart maybe tomorrow and try and shift some weight around. The log car is snow Henry's and when I was mowing the lawn out the front I found a cut piece of tree branch that looked like a Giant tree log for the railway. Been toying with the idea of using it and I attached it today and now I want to do a couple more as it seems to look fantastic! I have done quite a few of these promo type photos with customs I show on facebook, why not I say haha!

Ferdinand looks awesome and I love your idea about that huge log. In the video the log has yellow straps. I look forward to the next Mod video.
Thanks for the info on Bob's Hot Dog Stand it looks very unique. I had bought some of those quarter ounce train weights on your suggestion and the square ones fit perfect for converting a "C" size battery train to a "AA" size. Takes up the spare room and adds the proper counter weight...brilliant find. I have also quite the collection of different sized "key-ways" (for gears or pulleys) from my local home center/hardware. They are square stock steel and and come in various short length but can also be cut to any needed length. With all the different thicknesses they can fit into the smallest nooks and crannies of the engine shell or chassis. I also have used chrome shelf pins that are round stock and are similare to the round stock weights found in some Thomas and other engines. I like your Promo photos and look forward to watching your videos to see what it will look like next. Where are those gray tracks from? They do look familiar.
Oh the tracks are blue the picture is just filtered to look aged and washed out with the photobucket editor, they are the fake TOMY track with what looks like lego brick studs on the side.
Skinny thomas type weights or similar will be needed with Ferdinand in the front I think and to remove some weight from the rear. Trouble is space is very limited in Ferdinand's front as the wheels take up allot of space and the whole boiler is just battery. |
