this may be of interest to members who use hobbysearch, fromjapan and other japan based "suppliers" of plarail.

i got this email from jauce:

Quote:Dear sunhuntin,

Thank you for using Jauce.com.
We are writing to inform you that “invoice preferences" will no longer be available due to recent changes in Japan Post international shipping policies.

Effective from November 15th 2016, all shipments must include an invoice attached outside the box in any circumstances.

Thanking in advance for your understanding.

Best regards

Thanks for the heads up Sun. Not sure what the “invoice preferences" is unless its something that is unique to Jauce. I don't think Japamart has this option, at least I haven't heard of one. Exactly what is it that it is going to be discontinued?
with jauce, you could select to have the invoice placed inside the box or stuck on the outside. what japan post wants is all invoices for intl parcels to be placed outside. i always chose for it to be inside, away from the prying eyes of local couriers, lol.

I never noticed there was an option to be honest, FJ do have the option to 'customise' things a bit like adjusting item values, marking as a 'gift' etc... if you're that way inclined and want to risk getting caught out. But don't recall them even having an option for the placement of the invoice Smile

But thanks for the heads up tho!! Big Grin

What great timing.. Big Grin. So I just received an email from FromJapan. Basically stating that their fees and commissions are gone. Instead they are using a "plan" structure. Initially this seemed like a great thing, but I am wondering now after reading a bit more.

Ther appears to be two plans, a 700¥ and a 300¥. After that of you have multiple items to ship there is a 900¥ consolidation fee. Then there is the domestic delivery and international. Also a 200¥ bank transfer fee of paying with something other than credit card.

It may end up cheaper, but will have to see and try it out. Smile
I wish there was a site that did a spread sheet, side by side, comparison of the most popular Auction Agent sites. With a simple to read form where the exact same item was purchased using each agent and then showing the exact costs, or no costs, in each category with the total at the end excluding the International shipping as it would be different for all. Lets say they used a 1000yen purchased item that cost 300yen domestic shipping in Japan to the Agents warehouse. It would be so much easier to choose because there are many, many more agents than we know of and I think they all like the fees and such to be confusing from one another so they can slip in charges we aren't aware of.
