Earffel Tower Custom Built

In honor of Walt Disney World's (Florida, USA) 45th Anniversary just celebrated on Oct. 1st 2016 I tried to model a Water Tower after the iconic Disney MGM Studios Earffel Tower. The real 130ft tall, faux water tower, pictured below, was erected on the lot of the originally named Disney MGM Studios Theme Park in 1989 (Now called Disney's Hollywood Studios). The tower was recently dismantled and torn down in April of this year to make room for the new Toy Story and Star Wars attractions currently under construction. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/travel/at...story.html

My representation is of the original tower as Disney's MGM Studios and supports a blinking red LED light at the top and between Mickeys ears to warn off those pesky Pixar Planes flying around. Of course this new custom model will adorn the new "Dreamin of Disney" layout for the Granddaughter and will be one of the features when a video is made. .

Since I never heard of the original, I initially thought you misspelled "Eiffel Tower". It was only when I actually saw the thread that I knew it was the tower from your avatar. Was the model completely scratchbuilt or does it use parts from licensed and/or knock off products? Even though it looks a tad too thin, it looks just like the real thing. Shame the real one never had a rooftop warning light since it was so tall (or did it?). Also, Pixar didn't make Planes, Disney did.
That's awesome, nice work super. Big Grin

Thanks fellas

My aim wasn't for an exact replica but more of a fun, one of a kind, project honoring a Disney Iconic Landmark, the 45th Anniversary of Disney World and a personal touch to the landscape of our Dreamin of Disney layout. I dare say you haven't seen another like it...have you?
