Very cool, Thanks for the review Nigels. For around the Xmas tree that engine would do just nicely, I like it. Couple questions I have, Is there by chance a separate switch to turn off the sound if one wished and how fast is it??

thanks nigel, that is much nicer than expected!! i love that the wheels light up.
as for the sound, it may be able to be disabled by opening the body, finding the sound box and cutting the wire. ive done that with something else i planned on using for the lights only.

There's only one switch I can see and even that is very discrete on the side of the cab. However as Sun says it would probably be fairly easy to locate the sound box and snip a wire or add another switch somehow as I'm sure it would grate after a little while
Speed wise it seems pretty quick, but there again running on 4.5v I would hope so, might even go quicker if its not powering the sound unit I guess lol! Although the height of it would pose problems on a layout with bridges etc... otherwise it seems to be 100% Tomy compatible, at a glance you'd never know it wasn't the track is that good. Not bad to get a large oval and a pair of points as well for the price. I've already ordered another for my nephew for christmas

Also just found this that could accompany the train; Illuminated Christmas Scene
