trackmaster pawn shop finds!

a couple of weeks ago, one of my favourite second hand stores put some photos up on their facebook page. they buy and sell kids toys, clothing and equipment like car seats and cots. they are in a city 5 hours away.

i saw some trackmaster items in one photo, and was on the phone to them right away, getting them to put 3 items aside and paying for them. mum happened to be in that city, so she went to collect the next day.



when she did, she spotted the big big loader set in the window, and was good enough to buy it. its brand new, never been set up. the chassis is the quietest ive ever heard, and the battery terminal was folded almost flat down, a sign its never been used. surprisingly, it worked with very little encouragement!

the bulgy set i wasnt even aware i needed, buying it simply cos it was there. its complete except for the power pole, and bulgy works nicely.

the james set is complete and works, but needs new batteries as its very slow. i also cant get the top of the farm station off the base, so cant fit it in the box without getting rid of the liner.

the windmill and water tower were what i spotted first as ive always wanted them. better yet its dual branded trackmaster and tomy!

not bad for a rough total of $150NZD.

thats essentially what it is. thrift/op shops here operate on donations, whereas this shop buys and sells like a pawn shop.

Nice finds there Sun, always great to get a surprise like an unused older set, had a few of them myself and its always a bonus, doubly so if the box looks a bit tatty or something

cheers, nigel. the box for the loader set isnt too bad. a couple of nicks out of the yellow, but thats about it. almost like someone cleaned out their birthday present stash from 20+ years ago, lol.
