After finally getting my wifi back up after 3 days, I had the chance to take a picture of a few of the items I got in my most recent purchase!
I guess for the first time I've had a sort of "usual" eBay purchase. I bidded on a huge TOMY/TrackMaster lot that had a starting bid of 1 cent! That's $0.01!!! Sadly, it didn't last till the end, and we ended up paying 53 dollars including shipping for the whole 220 piece set. A lot of the pieces need cleaning, and I'm going to go back and clean up some pieces I'm already using a bit more (especially the 3-way point, which had been drawn on with red crayon, and the same happened to the grey/red drawbridge, which also has some plastic distress on the traction ridges on one side).
Anyway, I can't take a picture of ALL of the items, but here's a layout I made with a few of them, and then scattered with some others across it.
The Murdoch shown in the picture was also from the lot, and was something I really needed.
Murdoch was in almost perfect condition, but his eyebrows are missing and some paint is missing on the handrails on the smoke deflectors. His tender, while the battery compartment seemed to be never opened (it was so clean! the terminals were even bent forward as if it never had a battery in it!), was VERY dirty everywhere else. I replaced its back coupling, repainted the coal on top, and washed all of the parts in soapy water. He runs extremely well, and goes fast, but is very loud.
I don't know how I plan to fix the paint scratched off of the lining of the tender, as it's too thin for me to paint on my own.
