I got a nice deal on alot of older blue track

I just got this in the mail today, I got the bridge girders that i've been looking for to make a taller tower, but i also got nearly 200 pieces of track, 45 girders, 30 gender changers, 2 are 1/4 length too. The coolest part is the switch track I have one that has a switch to change it and it has a textured "drive" rails, which according to a chart in a previous post that its a middle age track, but the switch track that doesent have a switch is completely smooth, if you run the train backwards it doesn't switch it doesen't stays in lane, but if you go the opposite way it automatically switches back and fourth due to the molded in switch. Also on the back it says Tomy with a boy and a girl holding hands raised above their head. Only about 20 of all the track pieces say "Tomy" in big or small writing the rest say 'PLARAIL" or "made in Taiwan" and nothing else, some have a code aswell. I also got 6 longer arc curves that say "playrail" on them aswell.

Is it possible the that smooth surfaced switch track is super old? I've never run into any of the older tracks. I took some photo's below you can take a look at. Probably nothing special but i'm curious either way

Great score. I believe this is a lot I was watching on eBay too. The price went to high for me but it was a great looking lot.
Thanks, yeah it did cost a good amount (I'm very tight with money typically) but since it costs typically $12+ for a set of 6 girders, even if I only got the girders and nothing else, I still got them at half price over new cost.

Were remodeling our dining room, so when I get that finished alot of the furniture in the room will be gone, so we can grow our track a bit. If I ever get super rich, i would like to purchase a real train caboose to put in our backyard and have a train setup in there, I think that would be pretty sweet!

Can never have enough Girders for lots of fun designing and redesigning layouts.

the "smooth surfaced switch track" is not for the trains to run on. They are used for roads.
I didn't know they made the road track with the same connector as the trains. The few pieces on road track I have use a funny "l" shape connector and has a small snap pin opposite to hold it together.

They didn't. I suspect there's a slight misunderstanding in one of the comments above. The blue 'T' junction pieces with white flappy-bits are of course road pieces, and the smooth blue 'auto-double-crossover' - you've shown a number of pictures of it - is rail.

One set that both came in was the "Tomica World Super Deluxe Set" 7423, which also had the wide-radius curves. Looking at your pictures I'd say there's a strong chance that this is the track you bought. Maybe it's not complete, but the bonus super-bundle of gender changers more than compensates.

This video shows both pieces in action:

Wow, thats an awesome find, good eye! What sealed the deal is the fact that I got both middle cars in the picture with the set! Too bad the rest of the trains were missing, but it did come with Gordon and Thomas's coaches Annie and Clarabell. Also all of the grey track is missing.

I'm going to start getting some grey track next, and pickup some of the free wheeling trackmaster vehicles. The boys really want Kevin lol!

A few more job-lots and you'll soon find you've got more grey road than you could possibly want, along with so many regular blue rail curves and curve ramps that you'll be looking for a suitable land-fill site! I'm not convinced that "you can never have too many of..." applies to these items.

Thanks Chrisjo
I really like that motorized yellow crane truck that comes with that set. Wonder if the crane part is workable?
